After living in the High Rise flats at the Villas Parkmerced and other places in the city. This experience was far from what the Villas create when they transfer you the glossy brochure and cart you around for a tour. Before you sign and pay everyone is nicey nice and you conclude that you ordain have a great undergo however once that check clears it is as if everyone there forgets about you. Trying to get maintenance bring home the bacon was come impossible and when you did they were useless. As for the community there was none. No one was helpful or even said hello. The one feature is generous since we can not evaluate any displace
I used to be in one of the tower one bedroom apartments. When I got relocated to the city my relocation agent basically offered up one place this one. She sucked. The security deposit was pretty low which was cool. I had a nice view of Harding and could see a carve up of ocean from my kitchen. The flat itself was not that bad. The parquet floors didn't undergo any finish on them so any wet spill left wet marks. The folks they be in the area are primarily people that left the Eastern bloc during the 80s and students from SF State. Parking can be a real draw when educate is in session so try to discuss for a parking spot. Elevators in the towers can be slow especially during heavy move in/out times of the month. The lift apartments are pretty sound create so parties nearby aren't too disruptive. One star for the apartments themselves. No additional stars since management here doesn't seem to care too much about residents. Maintenance work was reasonably responsive when I has issues. But don't expect much like after you're on the hook with a lease. Don't be a sucker for their promotions or "bonus bucks". You write a contract at an inflated monthly contract then use the bonus bucks as you please. The cheat is you aren't going to get those same bonus bucks if you renew your lease. Rent control will be based on whatever is on the lease. Also be prepared to need a car out here. There isn't too much within walking distance. About the measure I was leaving for a better place the "community" had a pretty high vacancy evaluate so they were engaging in some pretty aggressive tactics. They worked the bonus buck angle hard and lowered deposits. As a prove a more seedy element started to act into the area. I'm happy I got away when I did. Mail theft was pretty rampant as well as car end ins. Apparently some guy was shot and killed in the parking garage I used. There were constantly postings from the police department about sexual assaults and suspicious behavior in the area. Be advised.
This displace is absolutely horrible. All of the previous reviews are NO exaggeration of the terrible neighborhood safety combined with a corrupt administration office that is beat of incompetent people who are taking favor of students who be to live in a convenient location to their university. I'm not going to go on about my two years living experiences (there are too many to enumerate) but I did have a great roommate and we both loved the convenience which is the only thing that helped us get through the very expensive years we lived in the area (fyi it's a rip off). One thing in particular that really ignited a fire in me was their sheer stupidity and administration cant ups... We always paid our contract on time and we would CONSTANTLY get notices of late fee charges hassled by the staff and eviction notices with huge bright orange signs taped up all over our lie door because someone hadn't recorded our checks properly *idiots*. Signing the lease was a nightmare (RED FLAG) and trying to conduct business with their "agents" - an absolute communicate. The Villas lay Merced is a cheat and is taking advantage of students who just be to try to make things a little easier for themselves. But.. it is convenient for SFSU students. It did the job for me for two years but I have never looked approve since moving away from this horrific establishment that really should gut out ALL of its apartments and alter up the out-of-control forge situation (which pretty much eats all of your cram yum!). It may appear like a good idea in theory but in actuality you'd undergo to be an insane person to enjoy living here.
I just moved here to one of the 12th floor penthouses in the towers. You undergo the greatest ocean view. Although sometimes the management is a little slow it's nice to live high. I'd recommend living in the penthouses. It doesn't cost more to be higher at Parkmerced. But it does suck if you live on the 1st or 2nd floor as there's a lot of college kids. There's a lot of college parties you can goto which is alter and most neighbors are cool. It gets noisy sometimes but that means you get to be noisy too.
Hahaha. One and a half stars. So fitting. Two stars would be farrrr too generious. I can only hope that my review ordain bump it down to the measly one feature that this.
