UNIVERSITY PLACE. Wash. - Six people are without a home after an apartment fire broke out in University Place Monday afternoon. The fire at the two story four unit Boulder Park Apartments broke out just after noon."When I opened the door the smoke was really really bad so when I opened the door we grabbed the dogs," said fire victim Gloria Garcia. The fire started in Chris Christoffersen's unit. She and her daughter were unable to save their kittens."About 13 of them," she said. "I had little kittens that I was trying to find homes for and then I had some adult cats."But when they saw the smoke they were more concerned with getting out and making sure neighbors did the same."We went door to door to make sure everyone got out," she said. Four units were destroyed but the six people who lived there all made it out safely and they credit working smoke alarms and a quick firefighter response. Firefighters say they already have an idea of how the fire started."In talking to some of the neighbors they believe.. she believes what happened is she turned on the heater this morning and apparently there was something that had fallen down behind a couch and laying on top of the baseboard heater and so that's what we believe," one fire official said. The Red Cross is aiding the six people displaced.

I've always lived in apartments. I've wanted to have a domiciliate of my own someday but I've never managed to get into one. I'm happy where I be. I'm the type of person that doesn't desire to act from place to place. Growing up my family lived in the same apartment until I was eighteen years old and then I moved from dorm to dorm for a bring together of years before we settled in this apartment. On December 2nd we'll undergo been here twelve years. The new owners are planning to alter all the apartments in the building and ours will be done sometime early next year. New carpets new window coverings new floors in the bathroom and kitchen and just new everything. It will be a hassle moving furniture around and stuff but it will comfort be our apartment just so much better once its done. I've stayed in hotels for trips and I don't mind them at all but it still isn't domiciliate. I never conclude totally comfortable in them. I know it sounds silly but the saying 'there is no place desire home' really does bear on to me. I experience there are even populate out there that actually be in hotels and that is just something I could never quite understand. My dad has been talking about going away for the holidays and I evaluate I'd like that. If we ever could evaluate of affording it. I'd love something like these. It might cost a bit more but it might a bit more home desire. Maybe anyway. First we be to be able to afford a pass trip. Then we can worry about where we are going to stay. Do not live here!! You can hear every movement in the apartment above you and Diane is a horrible manager. All she cares about is getting the apartments rented and collecting the money. She is nice at first, but don't... Do NOT be here! The manager Diane is hell to deal with. She is nice at first but look out! Not only do I have my undergo, but also change state friends who undergo been taken by her. No fasten back and... This is a rather nice apartment complex: attractive ground, nice apartments and whatnot, but I wouldn't advise living here due to the building manager. If Diane is still the manager, just act looking. She leaves rude, badly written messages posted... I like the Riverplace Apartments, they are clean and a good size. My biggest problems are dealing with Diane (who is nearly impossible to arrive, never returns phone calls, and thinks all college students are out to baffle her life) ... I lived here for a year. I have lived here for a year and have been very happy with it. It's a quiet place to be, so if you want parties, go somewhere else. The staff here is great and truly care about the residents.
